From pain to Darynka's first steps!
This little beauty is only 7 years old, but her life has been full of pain since birth. The girl has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, double hemiplegia with predominantly affected legs. She cannot walk on her own at all and is constantly in pain from severe spasticity.
Since she was six months old, Daryna has been undergoing constant treatment. And it helps her, she becomes more active and suffers a little less from pain, and there is hope that one day she will be able to walk on her own. However, the war in Ukraine brought new difficulties for the family.
The family was forced to leave their native Lysychansk because of the fighting. Now they live in Kryvyi Rih, and the daily shelling increases the girl's fear and stress. The spasticity is getting worse and the pain is almost unbearable. Darya's father is now defending our country, and her mother is supporting her daughter as best she can, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to pay for treatment.
Despite all the difficulties, Daryna does not lose her desire to live a full life. She loves to play with toys, look at books and is already making her first progress in drawing. She really wants to walk, run and dreams of dancing, but her biggest wish is not to feel pain.
The kids really need our support. Each of your contributions, each hryvnia, is an opportunity for Daryna to continue her treatment, reduce her pain and... take her first steps on her own!
