Her life depends on the medication

Now she is only 12 years old. Clever and mother's assistant. This year, Katia Mariuk graduated from grade 7. Over the last 4 years, this wonderful girl has suffered such ordeals that are not always possible even for an adult. For four years, Katia has been fighting for her life with cancer. The disease is severe and dangerous. Several times victory was almost obtained. But lymphoma returned again. 

The trouble manifested itself gradually. There were no disturbing symptoms and manifestations. On the child’s neck, the lymph node simply enlarged. "We didn’t even understand and did not imagine how serious and dangerous this is,” says Katia’s mother. "We went to the regional hospital in Kirovograd, where Katia was examined and tested for three weeks and... the diagnosis was shocking – lymphogranulomatosis, Hodgkin's lymphoma".

Then the little girl underwent 6 blocks of chemotherapy. It would seem that hospital day and all the unpleasant memories associated with the disease were left behind. And 8 months after completion of treatment, the disease recurred. Katia underwent a routine PET-CT examination, which showed that the lymph node was again growing. Again biopsy analyzes. This time the girl has already been sent to OKHMATDUT. "The treatment was already tougher, lasted 4 months", says Katia’s mother. In the Department of TCM of Okhmatdet, the child received a transplant of his own stem cells. During treatment, the body reacted with low tests, but Katia was discharged home 30 days after the stem cell transplant!

The girl really missed her classmates. After treatment, for some time she was in individual training, and then she returned to full-fledged school life. Katia is interested in mathematics, history, and geography. She enjoys reading adventure literature and loves to paint pictures by numbers. 

Like all girls, Katia loves Disney cartoons. Talks with friends and enjoys shooting videos, which he then uploads to the Internet. There is no time to be bored, especially when you have a younger 10-year-old sister! And in March of this year, Katia was waiting for another test – relapse... The cervical lymph node increased. Again, all over again: analyzes, examinations, consultations.
Katya is now preparing for treatment in Ohmadet. She is again waiting for a transplant of own stem cells.

Before this procedure, the girl needs to undergo treatment with Acetris. This drug is very expensive. To give Katia a chance at life, we are opening a fundraiser for the purchase of 1 pack of Acetris. On the UBB website, we plan to raise a portion of the funds in the amount of 100 991 UAH.

Katia has an ordinary Ukrainian family. Her parents work at one enterprise: the father is an assembler of parts and machine tools, the mother is a seamstress. Their earnings are not enough for a full treatment. The family Mariuk is forced to seek help. Please, support Katrusia!
