If she could ask Dasha frank questions about how she lives with cystic fibrosis, she would probably tell how endless inhalations and droppers bothered her, how painful her veins “collapsed” and the nurse looking for a place for an injection. How sad it is when there is a lot of treatment in life, and communication with peers is not enough. And also about how hard it is to think that your present and future depends on whether there is enough money for all prescribed medications.

Cystic fibrosis is an incurable disease, it hits the lungs and the gastrointestinal tract. But with the strict observance of modern treatment protocols and sufficient provision of drugs, you can live with it. Finish school and university, find a job, create your own family. Only here such an ideal option is very expensive. Hospitals, medications, diets, inhalations many times a day (the first at 5.30 am, the last at 10 pm). This is life, and Dasha is used to it. She fights the disease, but the insidious illness periodically poses new challenges. In December 2018, Dasha showed abundant growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. SARS, bronchitis followed one another; the doctors diagnosed the girl with a mucoid form of the disease.

Due to frequent school passes, it has become harder to catch up with classmates. But in sport, Dasha has solid victories – he helps her to fight the disease, so cheerleading is now a priority. One after another, Dasha's team wins prizes. Dasha is constantly taking a lot of drugs. The most expensive: Pulmosim and Creon are paid for the budget account, the rest is bought by the mother. The most expensive cost of planned hospitalization. Only antibiotics that are needed for 1 course of therapy at the hospital cost about 30,000 UAH (3-4 such courses are required per year). And beside them, you need a lot of other drugs.
