Two-year-old Mykhailyk needs funds for rehabilitation – to continue recovering from a severe injury and to reclaim what every child is born with.
On August 22, 2025, one fall from a height changed everything. Mykhailyk was just one year and eight months old. A severe traumatic brain injury, hemorrhages, brain swelling, hospitalization – and emergency trepanation of the skull. The doctors gave no chances. None at all.
But he survived. The left side of his brain was severely damaged, and some neural connections were lost. And now this little boy is forced to learn to live all over again: to sit, to stand, to crawl, to take his first steps. His right arm barely responds, and his balance is impaired. Every movement he makes is an effort and a struggle.
Mykhailyk is now 2 years old. His diagnosis is: consequences of severe closed traumatic brain injury, brain contusion, central mixed pyramidal-extrapyramidal tetraparesis. The boy cannot sit or stand, holds his head unsteadily, and has impaired movement coordination. Since the injury he also has delayed psychomotor development, general weakness, and a need for constant supervision. Doctors recommend systematic rehabilitation for Mykhailyk. A long road lies ahead: rehabilitation, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and daily sessions.
"We are already seeing positive changes: Myshko has become more active, more confident in his movements, his coordination, endurance, and overall emotional state have all improved. He attends his sessions with enthusiasm, and for us that is the greatest joy – seeing his progress," says Mykhailyk's dad.
Mykhailyk has already achieved the impossible. Please support him on his path to new victories – help him get to his next rehabilitation course!
