The costs of treatment are prohibitive

Karyna is a very sweet and determined child. She was born in the Donetsk region. However, last September, Karyna and her mother had to leave their hometown because of the devastation caused by the war. Still recovering from the move, the girl suddenly ended up in intensive care with high blood sugar levels. There, she was given a frightening diagnosis: type 1 insulin-dependent diabetes.
Since then, Karyna and her mother have been learning to live with this new disease. Due to her illness, the girl's vision began to deteriorate, and in January, she was diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes.
To make Karyna's life a little easier and enable her to monitor her blood sugar levels on her own without constant pain and anxiety, she needs sensors for continuous glucose monitoring. But there is one "but" – these life-saving devices are far from cheap. Her mother is raising her alone, and for this small and incredibly strong IDP family, such expenses are prohibitive. Help them make Karyna's life just a little bit safer!
