Dmytro Zamureiko is 15 years old. The boy has a big family: a mother, a father and two sisters (10 and 1,5 years old). On May 15th 2013 Dmytro and his friends decided to try parkour at railway where he was almost electrocuted by electric current of 27 thousand volts. Poor boy got 70 percent of his body burnt and got secondary lesions in organs. Seventy thousand UAH are needed for his treatment immediately.

Dmytro is keen on sport, particularly athletics. Lately he’s been into parkour and being physically fit. Who is to blame? Is it the state that doesn’t provide youngsters with equipped playgrounds? Is it the railway authorities who allowed that kids have free access to high-voltage lines and electric transformers? Or maybe, the teenagers who despite warnings and prohibitions went to the territory of the railroad? Is it their parents’ fault? It is useless to look for the guilty right now, it’s not the main thing now. The main thing is to help the boy recover and be healthy.

His mother Irina says: “Dmytro is well-mannered, polite boy. The relations in the family are very sincere and open. Me and the father never complained about our son. Dmytro loves his younger sisters very much and always helps me with housework. Dmytro didn’t drink alcohol or smoke. He was keen on sport. At the moment the boy is in bad physical and emotional condition. He constantly says he’s sorry when we speak on the phone (He’s in intensive care so I cannot see him). He worries for me about this situation. Our son always asks the doctors not to tell me (his mom) about his condition but rather speak with the father. He is very worried about his future that he wouldn’t be able to do sports, have relationships…”

“Today Dmytro is in Kiev City Hospital No2, in the centre of thermal damage and plastic surgery. His diagnosis is “general high-voltage electrical injury, II and III degrees burns, 70 percent of his body burnt.” The boy has had several operations but he still needs one more, as well as long-lasting rehabilitation in a sanatorium for people who suffered from electrical shock. His parents have already spent more than twenty thousand UAH, but 30 000 UAH are needed for the partial renewal of the boy’s organism.
