On June 12, 2025, the hospital received an oxygen mixer with an analyzer — a device that allows you to precisely adjust the oxygen supply according to the condition of the little patient. This is extremely important, because an excess or lack of oxygen can cause serious complications — from lung damage to brain or vision damage. The hospital was also transferred to an automatic respiratory humidifier, which provides comfortable, moist and warm breathing for infants and children with vulnerable respiratory mucosa. As part of the project, an infusion stand was purchased — a reliable support for the uninterrupted administration of medicines, nutrients and painkillers in intensive care or transportation conditions. All this equipment has already been installed and is working — helping children in critical conditions: newborns born prematurely, children with injuries, oncological diseases, congenital defects, after serious operations. Many of these children have suffered not only from illness, but also from the war, which has changed the reality of pregnancy, childbirth and childhood for thousands of Ukrainian families. St. Nicholas Hospital admits over 28,000 children every year and receives over 90,000 outpatients. This is the place where the most complex cases are brought from all over Ukraine. And in such conditions, every device, every apparatus is literally a chance for life.
