She is fading into silence, let’s save Mariika

Mariika came into this world through pain – a long 21-hour labor, hypoxia, a broken collarbone – the very first moments of her life were already a trial for the tiny baby. But she fought on and shared her genuine laughter with everyone around her.

But one day everything changed: after a common viral infection, her condition began to deteriorate; every day, Mariika seemed to drift further away from the world, ceasing to be the joyful little girl her parents loved so much. 

Years of searching, doctors, tears, and fear, and then that terrible diagnosis – "autism spectrum disorder, metabolic disorder" – and the feeling that childhood was slipping right through her fingers.

Thanks to treatment, Mariyka has begun to "come back" – she has shown her first emotions, spoken her first words, and taken her first steps toward people – but this struggle is not over yet; it continues every day. Mariyka will soon turn 8, and she can already do more than she could yesterday, but without rehabilitation, she may lose this fragile progress again.
