Let's save a leg of 5-year-old Misha

Mishenka Gryaznov is 5 years old, and he fights for his life and health during those 5 years. The boy has a serious rare disease; Ukraine has registered only 10 such cases, so doctors have neither the knowledge, nor the experience to deal with it. There is constantly growing of blood vessels in Misha's left leg. The result: edema, thrombosis, clotting disorders, bone dysplasia. But now the fight is for the saving of the knee joint – there is need to conduct several operations in Germany. If the knee joint will not be operated, Misha will stay without movement, but in his condition it is life-threatening.

The fact that Misha is seriously ill was clear from his birth. But in order to make the diagnosis, it took a lot of time. The verdict of doctors sounded incomprehensible and threatening: Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber syndrome. People suffering from this illness, have impaired outflow of the venous blood from one side of the body or one extremity. In Misha's case it is the left leg.Enlarged blood vessels in it penetrates everywhere, forcing to grow other tissues. To make leg not to grow faster than the other in breadth and length, there is need to wear a compression underwear. It is made by individual order and needs to be changed every 1-2 months. The cost of one set is 450 euros.

On the compression stockings and medical supplies family has already spent all their savings. But now the question is about saving the knee joint.

Ukrainian Ministry of Health has officially declared that they can not help Misha in Ukraine. To conduct an operation of removing the synovium, which will protect the knee joint, undertook surgeons from Germany. In the spring mother with Misha have already visited the University Hospital of Regensburg. But during the operation unexpectedly heavily bleeding begun, so there was need to postpone the operation until risk of bleeding reduces. This requires two operations on vessels. They are appointed on February 16 and October 4, 2016. Each will cost 10 000 euros. Such a big money Misha's family does not have. There is a half of the necessary sum collected for first surgery, so we are going to raise on ubb.org.ua another half of the necessary funds for the operation. However, we have just a little time to the end of December to transfer all the sum to the clinic for the surgery, which is scheduled for 16.02.2016.

Misha is living with constant pain, swelling and fainting. Misha's mother has learned to give injections in his belly, and the son is not afraid of them: he knows that it will help. The family does not lose faith in the tomorrow and the ability to rejoice. The boy gladly goes to kindergarten and to the pool, and has learned to swim. Now he is in no matter what must save his ability to move. Let's help save Mishenka's knee joint – it is a question of life and death!
