Let’s Save Kids with Cancer from Covid-19

The goal of the project "Save children with cancer from Covid-19" ("Let's save children with cancer from Covid-19") is to collect funds to provide children's departments with medicines and consumables during the pandemic. Children with cancer are at risk of contracting the coronavirus and need double protection. Due to the pandemic, the need for sterility and protection of small cancer patients and their doctors has increased tenfold. The use of antiseptics, protective masks, and gloves has tripled. It is also necessary to treat the premises, especially after cases of covid disease in the department. For this purpose, in May 2020, we performed ozonation of the room in the children's neurosurgery department.
But in addition, according to the order of the Ministry of Health, all hospitalizations in the department take place only in the presence of a PCR test for covid 19. It is quite financially difficult for the family of a child with cancer to do two tests at the same time (mother and child). With the funds of the project, we paid for the survey of families in August 2020.
During any pandemic, the basic treatment of oncological disease is not stopped for a single day, because this can give a chance for the cancerous tumor to grow with greater strength. In May 2020, chemotherapy drugs were purchased with project funds so that children do not stop treatment.
