Her mother did not get to hold Vika after the birth – the girl was taken straight to intensive care. She was born at 39 weeks but could not breathe independently: hypoxia, brain hemorrhage, seizures. The doctors made no prognoses. But Viktoriia did not simply survive – she showed everyone just how desperately she wanted to live! The girl went through intensive care, hospital stays, and numerous examinations, and ultimately got her chance at a happy childhood and future.

At home, Vika grew and delighted her parents with small achievements. But in time, seizures burst into her life and destroyed everything she had already learned. Fortunately, the doctors managed to stop them. In their place came spasticity, cerebral palsy, and developmental delay.

Viktoriia is now 4 years old. And thanks to continuous therapy sessions and the tireless work of the adults around her – and of the girl herself – she has already made significant progress:

"Vikusia's muscle tone has decreased, she now holds her head better and can sit up. She used to have difficulty holding objects in her hands – but now she has developed strength in her little arms and can hold various things for longer. Vika can already hold a spoon and play with toys. Our daughter works beautifully with her speech therapist, listens well, and is gradually working on sounds. And overall her condition, appetite, and sleep have all improved," says Vika's mother.
