Eight-year-old Nikita needs funds for a new rehabilitation course – to keep moving forward and continue gaining new skills.
Nikita came into the world post-term and was not breathing – his lungs were filled with dark green amniotic fluid. He spent nine days on a ventilator while doctors fought for his life and his mother waited and prayed. He survived. But the consequences proved serious: the baby's development differed from the norm, and in time doctors established a diagnosis – cerebral palsy and developmental delay.
Eight years of unrelenting struggle have passed since then. The boy still does not speak, cannot sit or walk independently, and is developing gradually with positive progress. Rehabilitation began immediately and continues to this day – years of persistent effort, hope, and small victories. And this effort is paying off.
"Nikita has begun to distinguish numbers and colors. He has become calmer, his sleep has improved, and he can already sit independently while holding on with his hand. Our family is infinitely grateful for the incredible help, because thanks to rehabilitation Nikitka is one step closer to an independent life. We are sincerely grateful to every generous and kind heart for supporting my son," says Nikita's mother.
Stopping rehabilitation can take away skills already gained. Every new course is one more step forward. Please support Nikita on this journey.
