Save a little heart

Kupriychuk's family ask everyone who are not insensible to help and do not allow to cut their only daughter. The family has being lived in a fare and hope that diagnosis won't be confirmed for four and a half years. At the age of eight mounts it became clear that little Anya has a congenital heart disease. It was the atrial septal defect. This defect might be closed by the special devise – atrial septal occlude. Moreover, it is possible to perform such operation for free. The only expense which the family has to cover is a cost of the devise. But it's pretty expensive and they do not have money at all.

The doctors of the girl advised to wait before she grow up because this defect wasn't life-threatening and some of defects tend to close spontaneously. All this time parents of the our little patient have attended different Ukrainian cardiac centers. But miracle hasn't happened, defect hasn't closed, it has expanded over the year and it might cause a serious complications. All doctors insist on urgent defect closure. The standard operation in Ukraine which can be done for free is an open heart surgery. This operation requires sternotomy, what means prolonged rehabilitation and also it leaves disgusting scar for life.
Our little patient is the only child in the family. The parents are scarred stiff, they can’t allow any possible complications which might be caused by open heart surgery. And she's a girl! They do not want to see any scars on her body.

It became known that atrial septal defects can be cloused percutaneously in Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. Percutaneous closure does not require long rehabilitation, patients are discharged from hospital at the second day ant it does not leave any scars!

The percutaneous operation will be for free for Anya. But she needs occluder, which will close the little hole in Anya's heart. The price of occluder is 32000 GRN. It's too much for Kupriychuk's family.
