Save Bogdanka's heart

Large Kononenko's family kindly ask to rescue their little daughter Bogdana. At the age of 1,5 months she was diagnosed with congenital heart disease – atrial septal defect. Since that time a little girl spent much time in many different hospitals and intensive care units. When she was sent into the hospital in Kyiv, doctors confirmed that the defect has been getting bigger. It became clear that the girl is in urgent need of septal defect closure with the special device named atrial septal occluder. Delaying of the intervention might be dangerous for the life of Bogdana. Let's rescue the little Bogdana's heart!

Kononenko's family bring up 4 daughters, they have official status of the large family. The oldest child is 7 years old, the second is 5,5 years old, Bogdana is 2,5 years old and youngest daughter is 5,5 month old. The mother of kids is in maternity leave. The father is officialy unemployed. Now he doesn't work at all because of military situation in the eastern Ukraine, where the family is from. The funds from the Government for the care after child are insufficient.

Therefore, any medical help is unaffordable for the family. The grandmother of Bogdana works in Kyiv, she washes up in a restaurant. The grandmother rents apartments with two of her colleagues from the restaurant. She heard from the latest news that the trains from Luhansk is available until the June 23. She decided to take all her family to Kyiv. Now the old grandmother shares the small room with two her colleagues, her daughter and four kids. The father had to leave in eastern Ukraine to help Ukrainian Army with a meal and water supply etc.

Bogdana is very intense and talkative child, she likes poems, dancing and singing. But sometimes it's impossible to do favorite things like these for her because of illness. Let's try to make Kononenko's family believe in the miracle despite of the military situation in the east of Ukraine. Let's rescue the little heart!

Lubov Podoliaka, the grandmother of Bogdana, born in Lugansk region, kindly asks all who care and is non-indifferent to help them: "My little granddaughter is in urgent need of operation. The family needs to collect 44 940 UAH. Now Bogdana is 2 years and 5 months old. Her diagnosis is congenital heart disease – atrial septal defect. My little Bogdana advised to close her heart defect with occluder.

Occluder is a special device advancing from femoral vein to the heart, which intends to close a hole in atrial septum. Therefore, this intervention allows to avoid skin and sternal incision, it's less traumatizing. Now these interventions is widespread for the treatment such defects all over the world. However, unfortunately, just open-heart surgery is free of charge for Ukrainian citizens. Bogdana needs less traumatizing operation on her heart; she needs atrial septal defect closure with occluder, which costs a lot!

The heart defect was diagnosed when the girl was 1,5 month. Since that time little girl spent much time in different hospitals and intensive care units. All these time her physicians have been waiting for the defect spontaneous closure. However, it hasn't happened; the hole has been getting bigger. The girl is in urgent need of septal defect closure. She can't wait any more, and now it's life threatening!

I borrowed some funds to take my family to Kyiv. I can't afford to pay the operation of my granddaughter’s heart. I beg to all who care and non-indifferent people to rescue my dear granddaughter!"
