This lovely, smiling boy with keen eyes suffers from a congenital heart defect - ductus arteriosus – and needs an urgent operation on intracardiac implant installation. Nazar’s mother knew about her son’s defect from the birth of the boy, but doctors hoped that the defect would close on its own.

Every six months Nazar was examined and the mother waited for a miracle. But Nazar began to catch a cold quite often, what frightened his mother. Then Nazar was taken to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery named after Amosov. Having examined the boy, doctors confirmed the diagnosis and advised Nazar to be operated as soon as possible because the boy’s left compartment of the heart increased. Nazar’s mother begs all concerned people to help her raise money and buy an intracardiac implant to repair Nazar’s heart. The single mother would never collect this sum of money by herself!

The letter from the mother:
"I am the mother of Nazar Zabolotnyi, who was born on July 13, 2014, in Rohizna village, Vinnytsia region. My children and I live in the village with my mother. Now I am on vacation because of the need to take care of the child. I am a single mother. The first child was born when I was married, but soon my husband and I got a divorce.

My son Nazar is 2.7 years old. Immediately after his birth, the doctors have heard the noise in his heart and sent us to Vinnytsia Regional Children's Hospital to consult a cardiologist. After the examination, the cardiologist diagnosed a congenital heart defect - ductus arteriosus. For 1.5 years Nazar has been examined by a cardiologist, and doctors gave hope that the arterial duct can still be closed without surgery. Unfortunately, the miracle did not happen. Then we were advised to attend the National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery named after Amosov for the examination, where doctors confirmed Nazar’s diagnosis and said that he needed a heart surgery performed without cuts. I am absolutely against any cuts.

I finally lost hope to help my beloved son when I found out the price for the implant because I would never collect the necessary sum of money. My income is about UAH 2,500. Our retired grandmother supports us financially. The operation should be performed immediately, we cannot postpone the treatment anymore because it can lead to unpredictable changes in blood vessels in the lungs and to increase stress on the heart, especially the on left ventricle which has already increased.

Nazar began to catch a cold quite often, he is weak and quickly gets tired. I beg everyone to help my son become healthy!

Hoping for your help
Nazar’s mother. "
