Save the ears of Artemii!

The reason why Artemii in the first year of his life has completely lost his hearing – medicine has no answer. The most modern devices cannot compensate hearing for the child- only cochlear implant can do this, but it costs 29 500 €. By incredible efforts, parents have collected most of the funds, for another 10,000 € German charitable foundations provided a guarantee letter under the condition that by the 1 of July there will be found the remaining amount. We and you have a month to collect 395 000 UAH and return the world of sounds to Tema.

Artemii is the second child in the family, his older brother Mark is 16 years old. Parents were dreaming about the second son for a long time, and the dream finally came true. In the family little Tema is everyone’s darling, he is coddled not only by parents but also by an older brother. The kid is very curious and active, he is fond of drawing and playing with constructions. But the problem is that Tema’s speech cannot be formed - he almost does not hear anything, even with the most powerful devices. Without hearing experience, even with good congenital data, the boy will certainly have lag in development.

The solution for such children is cochlear implantation, but the implant should be set when the child is under 3-4 years old – otherwise, the brain will not learn to recognize sounds. The implant costs 29 500 €, and Tema was 4 years in January. But the situation is not hopeless at all! Parents manage to raise some part of the amount, another 10 000 € were promised by German charitable foundation on condition that they will be used before July 1. If the remaining amount is not collected until July, the letter of guarantee will expire. Therefore, we are in a hurry.

A cochlear implant will help Tema to hear even the rustle of leaves and drops of rain, but the main thing is that he will be able to communicate with peers, go to a regular school, develop to the best of his abilities. He will have a lot of work with deaf educators band speech therapists to learn to hear with the "new ear" and to speak, but all this will happen later, and now we need to act so that as soon as possible to collect for the baby.
