70 convulsions a day is a terrible figure, especially when a 9-month-old baby suffers. A year and a half ago, Olia's parents were in despair at the inability to cope with epilepsy. But her mother found an innovative clinic, we found funds – and a year ago, Olia began to be treated in Chernivtsi. The result is incredible: the dose of anticonvulsant was gradually reduced – Olia won epilepsy! But there is still a long way: it is necessary to correct the treatment so as convulsions don’t return, and to restore the nervous system. In August, the Chernivtsi clinic is waiting for Olia again.

When Olia's mother applied to our Foundation for help for the first time, the baby wasn’t even 1 year old. Dozens of times a day the girl bent in painful cramps. The child did not show emotion and did not even focus her eyes; strong drugs did not help. But Olia's mother Ania was not going to give up. The education of a medical school was enough for her to find the only technique that was supposed to help Oia. The keto-therapy is the use of a special diet that allows many children to forget about epi-attacks.

But to choose therapy was half the battle – it was still necessary to find money for treatment in a private clinic. The funds were huge for Ukraine: over 80 000 UAH. Half a year there was fundraising, the funds were found, and Olya and her mother went to Chernivtsi. Many people worried about Olia, and keto-therapy worked: the baby had less and fewer convulsions! Regularly Ania takes the baby to the clinic for treatment correction. In April, the girls brought wonderful news. During the last course in Chernovtsy Olia’s encephalogram showed a remarkable result – and the doctors gave the command to reduce the dose of Sabril (anticonvulsant) gradually to zero! The child is defeating epilepsy!

Now Olia recognizes and distinguishes her relatives: not only her mother, father and brother, but also grandmothers. She became emotional, she smiles at adults and loves her older brother. She keeps her head much better, watches toys. Mom with a baby are doing Bobath-therapy, sensory integration, physical therapy according to Gribova’s technique. Dad built Doman’s slide: in a word, the family makes every effort to Olia’s active development.

In August, the next course of correction of keto-diet and rehabilitation in Chernivtsi is scheduled. Mom is spending plenty of time at deputies cabinets, but she just cannot find 42 600 UAH without us. We ask you very much to give the chance to the baby to continue treatment at doctors who helped her to get rid of an epilepsy!

Earlier on the UBB, we already collected money for Olia. You can see the previous projects by following the link.
