Forgetting what cerebral palsy is is the most cherished dream of 13-year-old Valeria Yakymenko. This disease has been with her since birth. She does not allow the girl to develop like other children, to be a healthy and active child. In addition to cerebral palsy, Lera has scoliosis of the thoracic-lumbar spine, flat-valgus foot placement and symptomatic epilepsy (in remission).

The girl was treated and every effort was made to improve her condition. And the therapy benefited Valeria: the girl began to talk better, chew food and drink more thoroughly, her fine motor skills and the work of the subcortex of the brain improved. Lera became an active and inquisitive child. The couple became parents for the second time, they were preparing for a new rehabilitation course for their eldest daughter in early 2022. But a full-scale war began...

The children experienced severe stress due to the sounds of the siren and explosions, so it was decided to evacuate to the west of Ukraine. Valeria took the road very hard, she became restless, did not sleep well, woke up regularly and cried constantly. For 2 whole months the girl took medications prescribed by a neuropathologist. Due to the fact that Lera could not complete the course of rehabilitation she needed, her back problems worsened: the curvature of the spine increased and her pelvis moved. Also, the girl closed herself in and began to eat worse.

Now Yakymenko's family is in Kyiv, and Lera's parents are begging for help: the girl desperately needs to go to rehabilitation, but there is no money for this. Help Valeria to get treatment!
