Zakhar dreams of walking without pain

11-year-old Zakhar is from Sumy. The boy loves playing football with his friends, singing with his sister, and building with LEGO. However, due to his illness, he is temporarily restricted from playing active games, attending school, and socializing with his peers.

Zakhar has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, and he urgently needs surgery to replace the affected bone with an endoprosthesis, costing 102,900 UAH.

His parents are unable to raise the funds quickly – his mother is always with the children, and his father is serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Despite these challenges, they believe deeply that Zakhar will regain his mobility and enjoy life to the fullest.

Zakhar is currently undergoing treatment at the children’s ward of the National Cancer Institute, where he has found new friends, participates in creative workshops, and receives psychological support. The boy believes that he will soon overcome his illness and return to his normal life.
