Preventing complications of the disease

Six-year-old Kostya is an energetic, inquisitive boy. He loves to study and learn new things. He also loves math and is fond of karate.

Almost a year ago, his illness - type 1 diabetes - unexpectedly burst into the life of Kostya's family. He was diagnosed with a severe form of the disease that requires constant monitoring of blood sugar levels. His condition is completely dependent on glucose levels, so the child may be disturbed by severe thirst, headaches, tremors of the limbs, pain in the legs and a feeling of extreme hunger with a sharp decrease in sugar levels.

To maintain a full life and normal development throughout his life, the boy needs insulin injections and continuous monitoring of blood glucose levels. He is under the constant supervision of an endocrinologist. Once every six months or when urgently needed, he undergoes inpatient treatment.

 Mom raises Kostya on her own and it is very difficult for her to cope with the financial costs of compensating for diabetes on her own. Therefore, she turns to caring people for help. Sensors for continuous sugar level monitoring are a chance for the boy to live a safer life, with better diabetes control and a lower risk of dangerous complications.
