Up to 4 years old, Maksym grew up an active, cheerful boy and did not have serious health problems.
But two years ago, after a viral infection, Maksym was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (severe form). Since then, his condition requires constant monitoring. Subject to compliance with the regimen, insulin therapy and regular monitoring of glucose levels, Maksym feels relatively stable, but requires constant adult supervision every day.
Due to the illness, Maksym does not attend kindergarten. He is mainly at home under the supervision of his mother or grandmother. The boy develops at home, and also attends classes with a speech therapist and psychologist, sometimes other developmental classes. Maksym loves constructors, cars, watching his favorite cartoons and doing puzzles. He likes active games on the street, riding a bicycle and scooter, various physical activities on the playground. Since he does not attend kindergarten, he does not have a permanent circle of friends, but he is happy to reach out to other children.
Due to the need to constantly care for the child, the mother is unable to work full-time and increase the family's income. The family is trying to cover all the costs associated with Maksym's treatment and needs on their own, but unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly difficult to provide everything necessary. Their small family is forced to rent housing. The cost of medical supplies is constantly increasing, which significantly affects the possibility of fully providing the child with treatment. Maksym needs constant monitoring sensors to control the disease.
