To complete treatment and to fulfill the dream

Sasha is no different from his peers: he loves computer, riding his bicycle and fixing the motorcycle with his grandpa. He doesn’t dream of having a new tablet or a smartphone although he wouldn’t mind having them. He dreams of becoming a veterinarian. Perhaps, this dream is a bit strange for modern children but Sasha loves animals and wants to help them. Now, however, it’s he who needs help.

The boy is in the intensive care of the Institute of Neurosurgery and every day he has to take a lot of expensive medicines. His single mom left her son at the department with his granny and works to provide for treatment but she can no longer cope on her own. And she asks for help.

Sasha grew up and developed like other children. He fell ill back in 2011. The symptoms were very strange: the boy drank a lot and often went to the bathroom. He had MRI and other tests and the doctors detected diabetes insipidus. And Sasha was treated accordingly… About six months ago the boy began to complain of headache and dizziness. His granny brought him to the Okhmatdyt hospital. Again Sasha had to undergo a lot of tests. As a result of them a tumor and hydrocephalus were detected. Immediately the boy was transferred to the Institute of Neurosurgery and had a surgery to install a shunt system. Then he underwent a surgery to remove the tumor and then one more surgery. Now the boy needs a lot of drugs to complete postoperative treatment.
