The disease entered Vanya's life when he was 4 years old. The boy began to lose weight rapidly and became irritable, weak and thirsty. He was admitted to hospital with a glucose level of 16 mmol/l – three times higher than normal. Ivan is now 12 years old, and one day he will make an important contribution to the development of IT. But for now, we need to preserve his health.
In accordance with cooperation agreement No. 21 between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange International Charitable Foundation and the charity aid operator POMAGAEM Charitable Foundation dated 31 August 2020 and supplementary agreement No. 21. 319 dated 9 June 2025, the project ‘Let's preserve the health of a future inventor’ was posted on the website dobro.ua with the aim of attracting donations to pay for Ivan Mukha's treatment.
During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds collected on the website of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange Charitable Foundation (dobro.ua) to purchase some of the sensors for the boy. Therefore, according to letter No. 405 dated 17 September 2025, we received the collected amount of 10,740.00 UAH (ten thousand seven hundred and forty hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to the Fund's account and continued the collection on the dobro.ua platform.
In August of this year, we purchased Freestyle Libre 2 sensors for Ivan in the amount of 10,740.00 UAH (ten thousand seven hundred and forty hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
He has grown significantly over the summer and is now 176 cm tall. Recently, he has had a poor appetite, which has caused him to lose weight amid active growth and intestinal problems (there was a suspicion of appendicitis).
His sugar levels are controlled in a timely manner thanks to sensors, but during puberty, these indicators can change sharply and frequently. In autumn, during the change of seasons, Ivan's insulin doses usually increase. Therefore, his parents are expecting another change in insulin dosage and a possible spike in blood sugar levels.
The boy pays considerable attention to supporting his liver and taking care of his stomach by adjusting his diet. He is also starting a preventive course of vitamins. Ivan has not given up his passion for programming and continues to study diligently at school and communicate with friends.
Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the boy's needs, and the project is still raising funds.
We sincerely thank the donors and partners of dobro.ua for their help, and the UBB team for their many years of cooperation!
