The Ukrainian doctors have been fighting for Zhenia’s life for more than a year. After the last examination in Italy, MIBG therapy was suggested to save the boy’s life. Unfortunately, our doctors cannot offer the child the necessary treatment. MIBG therapy is not performed in Ukraine because there are no necessary isotopes. The Italian clinic is ready to treat Zhenya but the bill is almost 70 000 euros. This is the price of a little Odessite’s life.

There is no stopping to fight after so many hardships endured. The boy has great chance to survive and it is confirmed both by local and foreign doctors. After all the treatment the tumor is covered with a capsule and stands still, so this is the best moment to destroy it with MIBG.

Zhenya’s disease manifested itself suddenly. The boy lost appetite, had nausea and there was s swelling in the belly. The doctors in Odessa performed an open biopsy after which the child’s condition deteriorated and the tumor began to grow quickly. The parents brought their son to Kyiv to the Institute of Cancer. The exams resulted in a diagnosis of neuroblastoma. The treatment was performed according to the protocol. Zhenia underwent two bone marrow transplantations, a surgery to remove the tumor and radiotherapy. The family is struggling to provide the necessary treatment for children since Zhenia’s elder brother also has a health problem with his hearing. Let’s help them!

At UBB, we collect only a portion of the required amount.
