Olha Yuriivna is a neuropathologist. For more than 30 years, this woman has devoted to the treatment of patients with various neurological diseases, as well as teaching in this specialty. And now Olha Yuriivna needs our help and support. Two years ago, she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer with metastases. For two years the woman has been fighting a hard fight against cancer. Completed 6 courses of chemotherapy at the Kharkiv Regional Oncology Center, two operations. Unfortunately, the disease began to progress in the summer...

In August last year, after the operation, a consultation with an oncologist and chemotherapists prescribed a new treatment, according to which Olha Yuriivna is already undergoing the 7th course. Also, the drug Xgeva (denosumab) 120 mg was additionally prescribed subcutaneously, which helps to reduce metastases and stabilize the process.

"Thank you very much that you have responded earlier to the call to help me with the purchase of these drugs, and I have already received Xgeva (denosumab) and femara twice with your help and the Found  "Hope and Believe", says Olha Yuriivna. In March, the next computed tomography showed the stabilization in the size of the previously existing metastases in the lungs and pleura, and the metastases in the bones did not increase. Olha Yurievna has a hope for stabilization of her condition and subsequent recovery.

Olha Yuriivna continues her treatment and continues to work. Now she is only engaged in teaching online, since her immunity is reduced and picks up any infection at once. “I was lucky, writes Olga Yuriivna. That our classes are held remotely. As a teacher, I used to advise patients, but now there is no such opportunity, since we do not go to the department". 

Olha Yuriivna loves the dacha, planting flowers, looking after them. “I have a beautiful climbing red rose, says the woman. I also take care of the grapes, but since last year, my husband has done pruning under my leadership". A dog lived in the Merkulov family for 15 years. “A wonderful smart dog, a mixture of terriers with a shepherd dog, says Olha Yuriivna. Unfortunately, he died 4 years ago. They couldn't get a new dog. And now I cannot walk with an active dog, as it is still difficult to walk".

Reading books remained a woman's favorite pastime. These are historical books, and on a healthy lifestyle and in the specialty of neurology. Olga Yuriivna reads a lot of information on oncology. To keep abreast of medical news, he listens to online conferences on medicine, on neurology.

The Merkulov family is trying to solve material issues on their own. Olga's husband works for almost 2 positions, Olha Yuriivna teaches and receives a disability pension. Family friends and friends of the daughter help whenever possible. Funds are barely enough to purchase the necessary drugs.
