A woman needs a wheelchair to move around

Lyudmila Petrivna never complained about her health. From childhood and youth, she was engaged in various sports – handball, volleyball, long jump. Even now, at 71, she tries to be active. She says that if she were 30 years younger, she would have gone to war as a paramedic. She and her husband pray every day for the health of boys and girls at the front. But there is one problem – the woman recently had her leg amputated.

At the age of 60, Lyudmila Petrivna's health began to fail. First, the legs failed, then there was a problem with the heart. The woman was treated for 13 years, but, unfortunately, she was left with the ability to move independently.

Lyudmila Petrivna was born in Rivne region, then lived in Odesa. Later, fate brought her to Khmilnyk, Vinnytsia region, where she lived her life. Before retirement, the woman worked as a foreman of the foundry department at the Khmilnyksilmash factory, which no longer exists. She took an active part in the life of the team – became an honored donor, learned to provide first aid.

Lyudmila Petrivna lives with her husband. God did not give them children, and they support each other independently. Two years ago, Ludmila Petrovna's husband underwent a very difficult operation. She was his nanny, and now he takes care of his wife. The woman says that she is lucky with her husband. Cooking, buying groceries, cleaning the apartment, dressing his wife – it's all on him.

Lyudmila Petrovna needs a wheelchair to move around. She receives a pension of 4,000 UAH, almost all of which goes to medicine. These elderly people are unable to buy a cart, and are forced to ask for help.
