A pain-free life for Vania

      In his IT lessons, Vanya writes code where everything works perfectly and without errors. However, his immune system is failing – due to Crohn’s disease. To avoid complications, Ivan needs a special diet.
      In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the charitable aid operator, the Charitable Foundation ‘POMAGAEM’, dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. No. 385 of 10 July 2026, the project ‘A Pain-Free Life for Vanya’ was published on the website of the International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ – dobro.ua – with the aim of raising donations to cover the cost of Ivan Shymansky’s treatment.
      During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds raised on the website of the International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ – dobro.ua – to purchase special dietary products for the young man. Therefore, in accordance with letter No. 307 dated 14 July 2026, we received the raised sum of 9,830.00 UAH (nine thousand eight hundred and thirty hryvnias, 00 kopecks) into the Fund’s account and continued the fundraising campaign on the dobro.ua platform.
      Thanks to the funds received, in July this year we purchased and delivered Resource Junior specialised food for Ivan, totalling 9,830.00 UAH (nine thousand eight hundred and thirty hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
      After a long period of online learning, in September Vanya finally started school, where he will be able to interact fully with his peers and learn directly from his teachers. He had been really looking forward to the start of the new school year.
The boy spent most of the summer at home, as he cannot stay out in the sun for long, and physical activity often causes pain in his joints and back. 
      He managed to go for a walk in the park and a bike ride on a few occasions, but had to stop these activities as he began to feel unwell.
      Vanya’s condition is currently stable, but there has been no improvement. Every three months, he undergoes follow-up examinations, the results of which are used to adjust his treatment and lifestyle. In the summer, he was also prescribed an additional course of treatment for anaemia and vitamin D deficiency, the results of which will be assessed once the course is complete.
      At present, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the child’s needs; the project is still raising funds.
