Young Daria is only thirteen, and she has already found a hobby and passion for life – ballroom dancing. But she has had to fight for balance and stability not only on the dance floor, but every minute of every day for almost five years. That is how long the girl has been battling an incurable disease – diabetes.
Since then, insulin, a glucometer, and willpower have been with her every day. Since her diagnosis, Daria's life has changed beyond recognition: things that once seemed mundane are now beyond her reach. Her beloved dancing helps her cope – when she dances, the girl forgets about everything else. But even on the dance floor, she has to keep a close eye on her blood sugar levels. Sometimes they drop or rise sharply, and then she has to interrupt her training to avoid losing consciousness.
Continuous glucose monitoring sensors would help Daria stay safe, train without fear, and prepare for competitions with confidence. They help her respond to changes in blood sugar levels in a timely manner, which prevents dangerous fluctuations and reduces the number of painful finger pricks.
Dasha's ongoing treatment completely exhausts her family's budget. The family is unable to cover the significant financial costs on its own.
