Life for Veronika

Veronika’s birth was also the second birth to her parents. In the past they abused alcohol and drugs. But once they decided – it's ENOUGH! At first it was difficult not only to abandon previous habits but also to prove the world that they were "normal". The family changed everything: understanding of the life sense and as well as their perception of each other and the vision of family happiness. The family became full when Yuliana was born. When the mother got pregnant with Veronika one couldn’t imagine a happier family. But not everything was as desired…

However, nobody expected that the family would have to face new hardships as it seemed that the worst had already happened. Little Veronika wasn’t even shown to her mother: her condition was critical and the girl was immediately taken to the intensive care unit. The parents saw their daughter only a few days later and only through the glass. The preliminary diagnosis was sepsis, meningitis, congenital hydrocephalus.

Veronika was sent to the Institute of Neurosurgery where in October 2013 a shunt system was inserted but it was rejected. After a while the other more expensive system was inserted. But the girl’s exhausted body failed again and she had an inflammation.
Now Veronika requires the insertion of a shunt system with special antibacterial components because other options are not suitable for her. Those components administer antibiotics for several months allowing the shunt to function properly without causing complications.

Unfortunately, the amount is unreal for this family. Now the girl is a year and a half and she spent half of her life at the hospital. The parents believe that in the world there are caring people who are willing to help and to support the others in their difficult life moments, that’s why they ask for help.
