From birth, Maksym was an energetic, active, and cheerful boy. But an unfortunate accident changed his whole life. For more than ten years, he has been suffering from type 1 diabetes.
It happened unexpectedly: one summer day, the boy went to play at a neighbor's house. There was a large dog there that attacked Maksym and bit him. The boy was very frightened, but it seemed that was the end of it. However, a few months later, his mother noticed that something was happening to her son. After going to the hospital, she received painful confirmation of her suspicions. A day in intensive care, a month in the hospital, and a lifetime in a radically different life.
No matter how difficult it was, the mother and son gradually adapted: they learned to control their sugar levels, follow a diet, and eat on time. The boy went to kindergarten and prepared for school. Maksym is now 15 years old, and after 9th grade, he entered college. But the disease did not give him peace; on the contrary, two years ago, it got completely out of control. His sugar levels were dropping and rising extremely sharply, and on the advice of his doctor, the boy began to use continuous glucose monitoring sensors. With their help, changes in glucose levels can be observed in real time and dangerous conditions can be avoided. But not everyone can afford such devices. Please lend Maksym a helping hand!
