Olena's story evokes pain and deep respect for this woman at the same time. It is a story of a life full of suffering and struggle for ordinary human happiness. It is an example for those who find their lives difficult and unbearable. Olena was only 7 years old when she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Despite this difficult disease, she finds love, gets married and decides to have a child. But everything does not go according to plan. At 28 weeks of pregnancy, Olena's kidneys fail. Doctors decide to deliver the baby immediately. Her newborn daughter survived only 1 week.
Since then, Olena has been undergoing hemodialysis replacement therapy and is currently awaiting a kidney transplant. But that's not all. Due to diabetes, the woman lost her eyesight. One of her eyes does not see at all, and the other is 50% impaired. Because of this, Olena has difficulty measuring sugar and injecting insulin. Therefore, it was decided to purchase an insulin pump, which constantly requires consumables.
After covid, Olena was connected to an oxygen machine for 3 years and could not breathe on her own. Now she has been breathing on her own for six months and can move around on her own.
The woman is married. Her husband has a group 1 disability, he has been on dialysis therapy for 17 years and has been on kidney transplantation for 3 years. In her free time, Olena paints and makes texture paintings. She sings and spends time with her beloved husband.
The financial situation of this family is very difficult. The couple can only rely on disability pensions, as they cannot work with their illnesses. Olena needs help to buy consumables for her insulin pump. Please support her!
