Life as a present

Arisha Dobrinchuk is one year old. Some people at that period are happy that their babies have learned to go or run. But Arinochka can barely breathe. The fact that other kids can from the birth: swallow, blink, cry - all this is not available for the girl. Her parents need oxygen concentrator and plenty of supplies to prevent hypoxia and to feed Arina.

There were a lot of similar stories: Heavy prolonged labor, taut cord entanglement, asphyxiation, ventilator ... During two months newborn was in a coma, and when she finally came out, the condition was so heavy that for next 4 months she and her mother spent in intensive сare.

The situation has not improved and now. She cannot eat from the syringe. Trying to feed her cause vomiting, besides there is a constant risk of catching aspiration pneumonia. Only thanks to caring people who helped the family to buy special equipment for feeding, the girl has finally appeared home. But stomach is working badly, and at being 7 months old, the weight of the baby is a little more than 4 kg.

Arina often has very strong cramps, because one of the diagnoses is epilepsy. Pain is her constant companion. "How many injections, intravenous lines, catheters we went through - up to wounds and black bruises, she was broken a leg, was wounded in the neck and the nose up to blood! Adult would not stand so much! - complains her mother. - Fortunately, there were also sympathetic people, and caring doctors."

Each month Arina needs plenty of all kinds of drugs and supplies: syringes, catheters, probes. Previously, parents tried to cope themselves, assisted by relatives and friends, but now it has become
clear that this is not enough. Medical expenses are in 4 times higher than salary of Arisha father. He is doing everything at work, but the reality of a small town dictates the conditions.

Additionaly the child lives with permanent hypoxia and asphixy risk.There is no intensive therapy unit for children in Marhanets,and the intensive therapy for adults have no oxygen concentrator, which Arina requires. That’s why buying this gear is necessary for the family.
