In April 2024, the project "Living with Autism in War Conditions" was posted on the dobro.ua website, the purpose of which was to collect funds to pay for a course of treatment for Vakulenko Zakhar (diagnosis - autism).
In June 2024, fundraising was completed and we paid for the boy's treatment. Zakhar completed his course on August 2, 2024 at the "Step by Step to the Goal" Physical Rehabilitation Center.
"I want to thank the foundation and the caring donors from the bottom of my heart, thanks to which my son underwent such necessary and long-awaited rehabilitation! Thanks to this course of treatment, my son has made huge strides in development, speech and socialization! Zakhar started to talk more, use new words, and even connect them into phrases! Now, with the help of language, he can explain what he wants, and even say that he is in pain! Communication with new people improved, there was a new interest in other children, and even friends. And this is so important! With pleasure and joy, we rushed to rehabilitation every day, I saw how my son's eyes lit up with interest." - Olena, Zakhar's mother, shares with us. Before rehabilitation, Zakhar did not speak well, and also did not understand spoken language well. For children with autism, systematic and continuous treatment is very important, because if this process is stopped, the child undergoes significant regression.
Thank you to BO MBF "UBB" and all donors for supporting the boy!
