Ivanka had always been a cheerful, lively child. She was constantly surrounded by friends, and she always tried to be the first to help whenever she could, whether at school events or at home.
But one winter day, when everyone was getting ready for the holidays, her mother noticed that something was wrong with her child: Ivanka had become weak, lost her appetite, started sleeping a lot, and her usual bright smile seemed to have disappeared from her face. Her mother sounded the alarm and called an ambulance. At the hospital, after many attempts to understand what was wrong, the doctors discovered that the girl's sugar level was six times higher than normal. So, on December 25, Christmas Day, little Ivanna was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, which is currently incurable.
Now the girl has to live by new rules: constantly counting carbohydrates, pricking her fingers to measure sugar levels, and daily insulin injections. The constant stress of each day and sleepless nights are exhausting for the family. But there is a way to make Ivanka's life a little easier – a continuous glucose monitoring sensor can help reduce the need for frequent finger pricks. With this device, it is possible to track the child's glucose levels in real time and prevent critical conditions. This is extremely important for Ivanna, as she does not feel the extremely dangerous low blood sugar levels.
Unfortunately, the state does not provide such life-saving devices to diabetes patients, and the price is simply unaffordable for the family. Only the father works in the family – the mother cannot work because she has to be with the child all the time. In addition to diabetes, Ivanna also has a speech delay, and the child constantly needs to buy expensive stimulants and pay for specialists. Help Ivanna not to lose hope and her pure childlike sense of wonder!
