One day in 2015 divided Roma Meshko's life into before and after. Due to a defect in the development of the gastrointestinal tract, the child's small intestine was removed, leaving only 12 cm. Since then, Roma has been in constant need of special food, which is infused intravenously. In addition, he needs medicines, vitamins and consumables.

Roma was born in 2011. As is often the case with newborns, the child suffered from tummy aches, bloating, and belching. His parents went to a gastroenterologist and Roma was prescribed treatment. Several times he was hospitalized with an intestinal infection. But none of the doctors found any intestinal malformation.

The critical moment came 4 years later. One day, Roman's health deteriorated sharply: his stomach swelled, and the child felt sharp pain. The boy underwent surgery, removing almost the entire small intestine. Roma spent a month in the intensive care unit. Since then, for 8 years, his basic nutrition has been Nutriflex and Smoflipid, which he receives through a port (catheter) in his central vein. The port requires careful maintenance to prevent blood poisoning (Roma already went through this 6 years ago).

In addition, the guy constantly takes a number of medications, vitamins, minerals to maintain the functioning of the body.

Due to the fact that only 12 cm of the 2 meters of the small intestine are left, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and trace elements are poorly absorbed. Roma is about a year behind in his physical development, which affects his height and weight: at the age of 12, he weighs only 30 kg.

But this does not prevent him from leading an active lifestyle: playing football and doing sports. Roma graduated from the 6th grade. His academic performance is excellent, and he especially likes English.

Prescribed special food, medicines, and consumables are very expensive. Let's help Roma and provide him with everything he needs for the next 6 months!
