Life Strength for Veronika

      A year and a half ago, ten-year-old Nika weighed 11.5 kg. She now weighs 17 kg. Veronika has a congenital brain malformation. The girl breathes through a tracheostomy and is fed via a tube – she cannot survive without this.
      In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable Organisation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the charitable aid operator ‘Pomagayem’ dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. No. 344 of 18 December 2025, the ‘Life Forces for Veronika’ project was launched on the dobro.ua website with the aim of raising charitable donations to cover the cost of Veronika Fomina’s treatment.
      On 7 January 2026, thanks to the donors of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange who contributed to Veronica’s fundraising campaign, we received 73,697.00 UAH (seventy-three thousand six hundred and ninety-seven hryvnias, 00 kopecks) into the Fund’s current account to cover the child’s treatment costs and project administration.
      Thanks to the funds received, we are able to provide Veronika with everything she needs for her treatment and daily care. In January of this year, we purchased and provided her with medicines and Fortini specialised nutrition totalling 9,361.00 UAH (nine thousand three hundred and sixty-one hryvnias, 00 kopecks); in March, we supported the child with medicines, hygiene products and specialised nutrition amounting to 12,000.20 UAH (twelve thousand hryvnias, 20 kopecks), and in April we provided assistance with hygiene products and medicines worth a further 11,965.50 UAH (eleven thousand nine hundred and sixty-five hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
      In July, our support included Fortini specialised formula, hygiene products and essential medicines, with a total value of 8,025.30 UAH (eight thousand twenty-five hryvnias, 30 kopecks).
      Veronika’s condition is currently stable. This month, the little girl has mostly been at home — with no medical examinations or unnecessary trips. Her days are peaceful: she eats, plays, sleeps and rests.
She finds the heat quite difficult to cope with — overheating can cause her temperature to rise, so her family try to protect her from excessive heat and spend more time at home.
      Veronika loves musical and light-up toys. They capture her attention and bring her joy. Right now, what matters most to her are peace of mind, the care of her loved ones, and the little pleasures that brighten her days.
      We plan to use the remaining funds of 32,345.00 UAH (thirty-two thousand three hundred and forty-five hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to meet Veronika’s needs in 2026.
