Life Strength for Veronika

      A year and a half ago, ten-year-old Nika weighed 11.5 kg. She now weighs 17 kg. Veronika has a congenital brain malformation. The girl breathes through a tracheostomy and is fed via a tube – without this, she cannot survive.
      In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the Charitable Aid Operator Charitable Foundation ‘Pomagayem’ dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. 344 of 18 December 2025, the project ‘Life Forces for Veronika’ was posted on the website dobro.ua with the aim of raising charitable donations to cover the cost of treatment for Veronika Fomina.
      On 7 January 2026, thanks to the donors of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange who contributed to Veronika’s fundraising campaign, we received 73,697.00 UAH (seventy-three thousand six hundred and ninety-seven hryvnias, 00 kopecks) into the Fund’s bank account to cover the child’s treatment and project administration. 
      Thanks to the funds received, in January of this year we purchased and provided the girl with medicines and Fortini special formula totalling 9,361.00 UAH (nine thousand three hundred and sixty-one hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and in March we provided support for the child totalling 12,000.20 UAH (twelve thousand hryvnias, 20 kopecks).

      Veronica’s condition remains stable for now, although there are some complications. She is feeling a little unwell, so she is focusing on her treatment to regain her strength as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, there has been no change in her heart condition — the blood clot continues to pose a threat. The doctors have decided to increase the dose of medication, and everyone hopes that the treatment will gradually resolve the problem, as surgery is not an option for the child. At the same time, efforts to improve her sleep are gradually yielding results: although there are still sleepless nights, the overall picture looks slightly more optimistic.
      We plan to use the remaining funds of 52,335.80 UAH (fifty-two thousand three hundred and thirty-five hryvnias, 80 kopecks) to meet Veronika’s needs in 2026.
