In Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, there is a girl with a wonderful name Zlata. She loves to read different books and enthusiastically tells her mother what she has read. The girl is also very fond of modern dancing and wins various competitions. Zlata and her mother live together and support each other. The girl is 9 years old and has an incurable disease - diabetes.
One day the child became very ill, and an ambulance took her to the intensive care unit. It was already clear that it was suspected diabetes. Zlata was sent to Dnipro, and she and her mother stayed there for almost two weeks. The girl was very scared. It was very hard to believe in the girl's illness because no one in the family had ever had diabetes. Zlata's illness is severe, and her sugar level jumps from everything - from the weather, from food, from stress, from mood. We have to take readings up to 15 times a day and even wake the child up at night to avoid a sharp jump in sugar.
Zlata constantly needs test strips, needles, lancets, medicines, and tests. These expenses devastate the family's small budget. The mother and daughter moved to Kramatorsk from an occupied village in Donetsk Oblast. The woman cannot find a job because she is constantly with her child.
Zlata needs a break from constant finger punctures, and this can be done with the help of continuous glucose monitoring sensors. The mother cannot afford to buy the sensors, so she turns to us for support.
