Zlata finished third grade with good results and continues to pursue modern dance with enthusiasm. Together with her team, she participates in competitions and often returns with victories—first and second places have become commonplace for them. The girl spent her summer vacation with her grandparents, who lost their home due to the war and now rent a house in the village. Zlata tries to help them with the livestock and in the garden.
But despite this, childhood with diabetes is completely different. The disease is unpredictable: as soon as it seems that sugar levels have been stabilized, sharp spikes begin again. Sometimes it is even impossible to understand what causes them: food, weather, or simply mood. The children of parents I know often refuse to take insulin, measure their sugar levels, or use a sensor. In this regard, Zlata has managed to understand her disease better—she knows that it is necessary. However, she is still a child, and when her sugar levels rise sharply, her mother often feels desperate because it is difficult to accept that her child suffers so much every day. Now Zlata needs sensors.
