Svyatoslav was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 10. At first, he experienced nausea and weakness, and lost a lot of weight. When his blood glucose level rose to 11 mmol/l—compared to the normal range of up to 5—it became clear that he had diabetes, just like his father. His family’s suspicions were confirmed at the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Specialised Hospital. From that moment on, the boy’s life changed dramatically.
In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the charitable aid operator, the Charitable Foundation ‘POMAGAYEM’, dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. No. 331 of 18 August 2025, the project ‘Reducing the risks to Sviatoslav’s life’ was posted on the website dobro.ua with the aim of raising donations to cover the cost of Sviatoslav Piskunov’s treatment.
During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds raised on the website of the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation “Ukrainian Charity Exchange” – dobro.ua – to purchase some of the sensors for the boy. Therefore, in accordance with letters No. 500 dated 24 September 2025 and No. 137 dated 6 April 2026,   we received the raised amounts of 10,894.00 UAH (ten thousand eight hundred and ninety-four hryvnias, 00 kopecks) and 8,210.00 UAH (eight thousand two hundred and ten hryvnias, 00 kopecks) into the Fund’s account and continued the fundraising on the dobro.ua platform.
In 2025, we supported Sviatoslav by purchasing a batch of Freestyle Libre 2 sensors for him, totalling 10,894.00 UAH (ten thousand eight hundred and ninety-four hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
In April of this year, we also purchased Freestyle Libre 2 sensors for the young man worth 8,210.00 UAH (eight thousand two hundred and ten hryvnias, 00 kopecks).

The school year is drawing to a close. Sviatoslav is busy sitting diagnostic tests in all his school subjects. At the same time, he is preparing thoroughly for his guitar exam.
In April, the boy had an insulin pump fitted at the OKHMATDIT hospital, and he is now trying to adjust to life with it. It is a long and difficult process, but in the long run, the combination of the sensor and the pump should ensure stable blood sugar levels.
Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the boy’s needs, and the project is still raising funds.
We sincerely thank the donors and partners at dobro.ua for their help, and the UCE team for their long-standing cooperation!
