Seven-year-old Vika is a cheerful, kind, sensitive girl, full of cheerfulness and positivity. She is keen on karate and has achievements in sports.

Until recently, Victoria's life was full of childhood dreams, sincere laughter, meetings with friends, sports, and preparation for first grade. New discoveries, big dreams, and a carefree childhood awaited her. But one day her life was divided into "before" and "after." Parents cannot forget the fateful words of the doctor: "Your child has type 1 diabetes." They could not realize how the child, who was cheerful and active just a few days ago, now needs urgent hospitalization with high acetone and critical sugar with a mark of 34! Vika was in a pre-coma state. Then everything was like in a fog. The only thing that was clear then was that life would never be the same again.

There was no time for despair, so Vika's parents began to learn to live in a new way: they mastered insulin therapy, learned to count carbohydrates, monitor glucose levels day and night, and be prepared for any situation. And most importantly, they searched for words to explain to their little daughter why from now on insulin would become her companion for life. The most painful thing for them was hearing Vika's words: "Mommy, I just want to be like all the kids...". Now her life is about constant monitoring of sugar levels. The most difficult thing remains the fear of nighttime hypoglycemia and endless finger pricks - at least ten times a day, day and night. For her parents, every night turned into an anxious shift, when it is scary to miss a dangerous drop in sugar. Later, they began to use continuous glucose monitoring sensors. It was the sensors that allowed them to monitor sugar levels around the clock and significantly increased Vika's safety. A month later, she was able to return to school, meet her friends again, and continue playing sports. Parents do everything possible every day to bring their daughter's life closer to what it was before.

For Vika and her parents, sensors are peace and confidence, the opportunity to walk with friends, have fun, and not leave the sport that Vika is passionate about, because otherwise she will not be able to continue and, of course, this life without constant painful punctures and sleepless nights from her parents.

However, it is financially very difficult for the family to buy sensors on a permanent basis, since they are also raising a son with autism, who needs constant remedial classes, examinations, and medical support. Only the father is able to work, while the mother is constantly with the children, who need supervision and care.

We ask you to help provide the girl with sensors for constant monitoring, because for her this is a chance to have a normal childhood.
