Meetings that will help orphans

A family for each of us is a priceless gift, reliable support, what we protect, what inspires us. No one argues with this, as well as with the fact that children should not live in boarding schools. When it comes to the support of foster families – the majority turns away: they say, they took the children to the family – consult, because you knew what they were going for. And in the past of these children severe injuries, cruelty, and violence. To create all the conditions for the gradual healing of these wounds, parents need qualified psychological help.

Did you know that 25 out of 88 graduates of boarding schools repeat the fate of their parents? It is possible to interrupt this chain of orphanhood by raising children deprived of parental care in families, not in institutions. In the Dnipropetrovsk region of such families 563, and in them – 2 357 adoptive children. These are very difficult children with such an experience that it’s even difficult for us to imagine. Theft, sexualized behavior - such problems regularly surface in foster families. This is horrifying, but it is this that allowed many of the orphans to survive. Carefully and gradually heal these injuries and in the end to grow up independent, happy adults is possible only with the constant support of an experienced psychologist.

The charity foundation "We Help" has already conducted large-scale intensive training sessions with excellent specialists for adoptive parents, for which we are still thanked, after years. Now our wards of foster families and family-type children's homes have again accumulated a lot of questions to psychologists, doctors, lawyers, and social workers. There are plenty of relevant topics, so we have planned 2 supervisory meetings, which together will cover 50 people.

For a two-day intensive for 25 people, accommodation, meals, rent of a conference room at the camp site will be at least UAH 36 000; transfer – about UAH 3 600; payment for the work of psychologists – UAH 18 000, other specialists – about UAH 5 000. Add stationery, water, associated costs, a possible increase in prices – one meeting will cost about UAH 72 000.

We assume that the number of people wishing to participate will exceed 25 people, so we immediately plan 2 such meetings.
Let's vote for a foster family as opposed to a boarding school not only in words! Every UAH 20 is important, because seas appear from drops! We will make the weather in the homes of foster families as favorable as possible and help parents continue their hard work!
