Meeting spring without pain

Olia survived many hardships. There was a terrible diagnosis at the age of 15 – osteogenic sarcoma. There were chemotherapy cycles and 6 surgeries during a year and a half. The girl bravely fought the disease without tears, questions, reproaches. After recovery, she returned to school. Everything in her life was getting better, but suddenly the endoprosthesis broke, and it needs to be replaced urgently.

Now Olia is studying for her master’s degree after receiving the bachelor’s degree in management with honors. She learns foreign languages and dreams of traveling. However, without an endoprosthesis, the girl will not even be able to walk. The required amount, 22,000 UAH, seems not very big but not for Olia’s family. Her father died last year, and her mother lost her job.

The Pediatric Department of the National Cancer Institute doctors are taking Olia for treatment, even though she is over 18 years old. For a successful surgery, the bone prosthesis replacement should be performed by the same surgeon who had installed it.
