Thanks to the charitable support of the mobile operator Vodafone Ukraine, we are implementing a project to purchase a modern patient monitor to help save premature newborns at the Khmelnytskyi City Perinatal Center.
Every year, thousands of premature babies are born in Ukraine—tiny infants weighing only 500 grams, who are not yet ready to breathe on their own, maintain body temperature, or regulate their heartbeat. Their first weeks of life are a constant battle for every breath, for every heartbeat.
Not a single second in this battle can be lost. Modern medicine gives even the smallest infants a chance, but without specialized equipment, doctors cannot detect life-threatening changes in their condition in time.
Unfortunately, the war has worsened an already difficult situation. Due to stress, lack of access to quality medical care, and the challenging conditions of pregnancy, the number of premature births is increasing. At the same time, medical institutions that save these children’s lives often work with outdated or insufficiently equipped medical devices.
We are purchasing a modern patient monitor PVM-4763, which will ensure round-the-clock monitoring of newborns in the intensive care unit. This equipment will allow doctors to instantly respond to critical changes and prevent life-threatening conditions.
The monitor provides heart rate monitoring (ECG cable and electrodes), helping to detect cardiac irregularities in time. It also enables oxygen saturation monitoring (SpO2 sensor), which is crucial for newborns with underdeveloped lungs. The monitor allows for blood pressure measurement (specialized cuffs), helping to prevent critical conditions. Additionally, it includes a temperature sensor to ensure stable body temperature regulation for the infant.
In intensive care, there is no room for delay. Every second, doctors make decisions that determine life or death.
Modern medical equipment is not just technology; it is a chance to survive, grow, and have a healthy future. The patient monitor will help doctors work more precisely, quickly, and effectively.
Babies who are not yet able to breathe on their own need our help. Together, we can give them a chance at life.
We are deeply grateful to Vodafone Ukraine for supporting this vital project!
