Dr. Doolittle races to rescue

Thanks to “Dai lapu, drug” emergency aid” and “Emergency aid for animals. Continuation” projects posted on the ubb.org.ua, we are doing what we must do and what we do in the best way. Saving lives of our four-legged brothers. Those who are lost, hit by a car, sick or severely depleted, put out by their masters because of old age, or discarded just as cloying and useless toys. We continue to raise money for veterinary care for injured and seriously ill animals. We hope that you will also continue to participate in this act of kindness together with us!

Thanks to the funds already collected from previous projects, a lot of affected animals were saved. Among them is a harmless little doggy Laska, who was severely beaten by people, but showed incredible maternal qualities and covered two puppies from flying stones by her own body. Doggy Leika, hurt by a car, with spinal injury, pelvis fracture, intestinal atony, tail trauma, deep wounds on her back, she fought desperately for her life. Puppy Rudy heavily wounded by fighting dogs; dog Jack, thrown out of the window of a multistory building by his own masters, and many others. They were provided with all necessary assistance; they are recovering and soon will find loving masters!

In our time, when life is so complicated, people have so many problems, and everyone fights as best he can for a place under the sun, what is the price of a stray dog’s life? When our hearts have hardened so hopelessly, and the voice of conscience has become so quiet, almost inaudible ... Who can see a living creature, suffering and begging for help, in a dirty, blooded mongrel? A homeless animal has practically no chances to survive; treatment is usually expensive. In case of compound fractures, surgery and long-term rehabilitation are required, and very few people wishing to help a poor creature can afford to pay for such things. Therefore, “in order for the animal not to suffer torments”, people agree to euthanasia. But animals always feel what fate awaits them ... And they cling to life with a mighty heave, pleading with their eyes: “Do not kill me!”

We never agree to euthanasia, using even the smallest chance to save animal’s life. After all, life is the greatest value! Every day dozens of calls come on the phones of “Dai lapu, drug” organization from people, who can’t pass by homeless animals suffering disaster. And we'd like to help everyone, but funds for rendering of assistance are sorely lacking. We have only a few people, “Dai lapu, drug” volunteers; there are simply not enough of us for everyone. After all, we are not all-powerful, but ordinary people. And if there will be more of us, then our help will also increase!
