Artur's hard times began when he was in the second grade. Like all children who were later diagnosed with diabetes, Artur began to lose weight and was constantly thirsty. When the test results came back, the doctors had no more doubts. The boy was diagnosed with insulin-dependent type 1 diabetes, and he was admitted to a Ternopil hospital.

Artur has older brothers, Ivan and Yaroslav, who help his mother monitor Artur's condition. The boy has significant health problems, in addition to diabetes. He has problems with his eyes, and often gets infections. Trips to hospitals are already a part of his sad life. The brothers are sympathetic to their sickly little brother and take over for their mother when she is forced to go to Poland for a month to work. It is the only way for her to feed her children.

His illness does not prevent Artur from making friends, he likes to cook and make things with his own hands out of cardboard. It is difficult for him to live with diabetes because he is unable to use modern devices – sensors for measuring sugar levels, which make life easier and prevent the disease from causing irreparable damage to his future health. The boy needs our attention and support, and even more so – help in purchasing the sensors.
