Since birth, Makar has been fighting for his life. Due to an intrauterine infection and a difficult birth, this boy was immediately admitted to intensive care and then to the neurology department.

After being discharged from the hospital, it seemed that the hardest part was behind him, but his mother's heart told her that something was wrong. At three months old, Makar could not hold his head up, although he was already trying to roll over onto his side. At four months, the boy began to have seizures, and everything he had learned disappeared. Makar stopped eating on his own and was eventually admitted to the hospital again, where his parents heard the terrible diagnoses: secondary microcephaly, congenital brain malformation, epilepsy, and flaccid tetraparesis.

Despite all the difficulties, the family did not give up. Thanks to constant rehabilitation and daily work at home, at one year and two months, the boy sat up on his own for the first time, and at two years old, he began to crawl. Each such step is the result of tremendous effort, patience, and love.

Today, Makar is three years old. He still cannot walk or talk, does not understand spoken language, and has significant developmental delays. But this little fighter does not give up – he smiles, strives to move forward, and believes in his recovery. His eyes shine with hope, and his diligence is impressive.

“We are seeing improvements that we cannot help but be happy about! Makar has started to chew much better, he is very interested in the world around him, and he is also showing good results in his ability to walk independently,” says the boy's mother.

In order for Makar to continue on his path to recovery, he needs rehabilitation, which his family cannot afford on their own. Therefore, we are starting a fundraiser for a new course of treatment for the boy and are asking for your help.
