Inhale and exhale… it’s about 29 thousand times a day. We enjoy fresh air every day, but we don't notice the ones tied to the oxygen hoses. Sometimes for such people every breath is difficult and intermittent, they suffocate, they have cystic fibrosis.

Living with cystic fibrosis is hard daily work. The disease is incurable and most often affects the lungs and digestive system. Mucus and sputum from the lungs when suffering from cystic fibrosis stuck in lungs which leads to constant coughing and labored breathing, as well as pancreatic and gastric disorders, constant pain and flatulence. With these symptoms a person is doomed to live forever. To survive you need to constantly inhale, take a handful of drugs, move a lot and train your lungs. The disease is diagnosed mainly in the first three years of life, and children with cystic fibrosis should learn from an early age to fight for every breath.

The Momot family experienced the same thing. But they have a double grief: both children – Tetiana and Mykola – suffer from cystic fibrosis. The little brother and sister are inextricably linked in their struggle for a normal life. Tetiana was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at 2 years and 3 months – she did not gain enough weight, had chronic bronchitis. At that time, her mother was already pregnant with her second child, Mykolka. It was a real shock for the parents. The life of the family changed at once – an inhaler and stacks of medicine packages appeared on the bedside tables.

When Mykola was finally born, his parents watched him carefully, looking for signs of the same genetic disease. Every day, the mother looked into the face of her baby and wondered if her son would have to go through the same thing that now befell her daughter. However, soon her worst fears came true. Mykola was also diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and he started treatment immediately after birth.

One child needs care and huge financial costs, and imagine when there are two such children in the family! All this time, the family was somehow coping - the children grew and developed little by little. Currently, Tetiana goes to school. She loves to draw, dance and sing, and her brother Mykolka is still in kindergarten and is actively preparing for school. It would seem that everything is fine, the family has got used to everything, slowly adapted, if not for the constant expenses. Children are growing, they need more and more expensive equipment and more medicine. The parents cannot cope anymore and decided to seek help.

Currently, Tetiana and Mykola use powerful PARI LC SPRINT inhalers every day. Every three months, the consumable kits for them – nebulizers – need to be changed. To live without fear until the end of next year, parents are asking to buy their children 6 such nebulizers (2 they already have). The cost of one is UAH 1150, and for 6 UAH 6900 is required.

However, this is not the whole story. At present, children are tied to the house, because the inhalers they have can be used only when they are connected to electricity. The family cannot afford a portable inhaler that can be used at school or when leaving their hometown. It's a small dream for the family, because they will be more mobile. The cost of one inhaler Flaem NUOVA Wi. Neb Go - UAH 7700, and children need 2 at once.

The total amount of assistance for today for Tetiana and Mykolka is UAH 22,300. The amount may not seem very big, but it can change the life of the whole family. We are convinced that doing good together is real!
