On the eve of the New Year Holidays Kredit Dnipro Bank had held a charity auction among its employees, having raised funds for purchasing the necessary medical equipment for the Institute of Pediatrics Obstetrics and Gynecology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. Lots for the auction were provided not only by the employees but also by the partners of the bank: StarLightMedia Holding (STB, ICTV, Novy TV channels, "ANTYSNID" charity fund, "Inter" TV channel, "Kvartal 95" studio, CF Denis Silantiev's charity fund and others...

"We thank all the participants of the auction - both, those who gave lots and those who bought them. We were glad to have so many associates - partner organizations which joined the charitable initiative of our bank, - said Tetyana Yaroshenko, director of corporate communications of Kredit Dnipro Bank. - With all our souls we are hoping that together we were able to give hope to parents and make a contribution into building the healthy childhood for the kids, who will be building the future of our country".

Thus in the closest time the necessary medical equipment will be purchased- its goal is to save littlest children. We call them "Neterplyachki" (impatient) - since they so much want to see the world that they are born preterm.

"Neterplyachki's are:
1. Children with a low body weight at birth (1501 - 2500 grams) who are considered "premature born".
2. Children with a very low weight at birth (1001 - 1500 grams) who are considered "deeply preterm".
3. Children with extremely low weight at birth (500 - 1000 grams), they are the "extremely preterm".

Because all the premature born children have to go through the intensive care unit, it is very important to ensure the sterility of all the equipment and the materials used in the intensive care, such as hoses, incubation tubes, mixers, et cetera. For the sterilization the ultraviolet light cell and the sterilizators are used. Without them work in the intensive care unit is impossible. When the child can breathe on it own and there is no more need in the artificial lungs' ventilation, the second stage of the nursing begins. It usually is carried out in the department of the intensive therapy of the newborns. The child needs to receive proper nutrition so that it starts to gain weight. Doctors pay special attention to the digestive system, which is still premature. Receiving the breast milk straight from the mother is technically impossible with the premature born babies, because of the specifics of the weak body of the child. Mothers of such children strain the milk into the special bottles or containers and then this milk is given to the child through the probe or through other alternative methods like a little spoon, a little bottle or others, - this is chosen individually. All these actions require the sterility for the nutrition preparation- for this a special device, the sterilizator, is used. It is needed round the clock, day and night. If the sterilization conditions are carried out properly, the child receives the nutrition correctly and quickly gains weight, not having problems with digestion and their harmonious development is secured.

While nursing the "impatient" newborns doctors use the "kangaroo" method: nowadays the fact, that the newborn child requires the communication with the mother, is proved. The child needs to hear the mother's voice, feel her warmth, and all of that is carried out through this method. Its essence is that child is laid upon the mother's or father's chest, wearing a special shirt for holding the baby and moving around with it. Studies have shown that the mother's body warmth warms the child very well and the baby's body temperature stays on the necessary level.

Thanks the charitable initiative, kind hearts and the will to help the children from the team of Kredit Dnipro Bank, we now have the funds for purchasing the necessary above-mentioned equipment and thus also help the doctors of the Institute of Pediatrics Obstetrics and Gynecology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine save the "impatient" newborns.
