Dasha is sixteen years old. She has long been accustomed to constant sugar monitoring, insulin injections, and a strict diet. She has been living with diabetes for twelve years – almost her entire life. The disease has limited her, but it has not broken her spirit.
Her parents struggle every day to ensure that she gets everything she needs: medicines, proper nutrition, and medical examinations. It's expensive, and the family has had to cut back on everything, giving up trips, entertainment, and even some basic things, because both the girl's mother and her younger sister have diabetes. But they never complain – the main thing is that Dasha feels good.
Recently, she began to notice a deterioration in her eyesight. At first, it was just blurry letters in her textbook, and then she could barely make out people's faces on the street. Doctors confirmed her biggest fear: diabetes was affecting her eyesight.
This news came as a blow, but Dasha did not allow herself to despair. She knows that her family is doing everything possible, and she has to fight too. She dreams of going to medical school to help people like her. Dasha does not want to be a victim of circumstances and dreams of becoming someone who changes them. But to do this, she needs help in purchasing sensors for continuous monitoring of her sugar levels.
