Children's hope: help to the Odessa regional hospital. Cardiac surgery
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the program continues to operate and assist Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical equipment.
As part of the Cardiology project, in June 2022, the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery with the Intensive Care Unit of the Odesa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital of the Odessa Regional Council will receive assistance.
The funds raised for the department included an SL6030 electrically adjustable functional children's bed with an infusion stand and an oxygen balloon holder, as well as a portable Pulse Oximeter Nellcor SpO2 PM 10M, a COVIDIEN with a baby sensor and a Bedside SpOII heart rate monitor with a COVID baby monitor.
Up to 200 children with congenital heart disease are diagnosed for the first time every year. During the year, about 150 children are treated, about 20 of whom are children weighing less than 1.5 kilograms and who also need surgery. The Department of Cardiovascular Surgery with the Intensive Care Unit provides inpatient care to children with congenital heart defects and vascular abnormalities.
KNP "Odesa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital" provides assistance to children from the city of Odessa, Odessa region and surrounding areas. The purchased equipment will allow to provide treatment to children at a better level.
